Marie (Mirto) Dogolo obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Marie (Mirto) Dogolo, 76 of East Haven passed away December 17, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. She was born June 4, 1949 in New Haven to Guido Mirto and Rae (Caso) Tropeano. Marie is survived by her loving husband of over 43 years, Christopher Dogolo and two devoted children; Vincent P. Esposito of East Haven and Krystal Dogolo (Michael Nastri) of Stamford. She is also survived by her two siblings; Shirley Cooper of East Haven and Robert Mirto (Michael Nesdale) of Moodus, twin niece and nephew, Cheryl Tardif (Vaughn) of East Haven and Brian Cooper (Megan) of East Haven.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Stephanie Cooper.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and beauty touched everyone who knew her. She shared a special and deeply devoted partnership with her husband, Christopher, and felt truly cherished by the love and care he gave her throughout their life together. She was incredibly proud of her children and found her greatest joy in family, friendships, and time spent together.

Throughout her career, Marie held several roles that reflected her care for others and her strong work ethic. She worked as a legal secretary for Michael Whalen in New Haven and as an administrative assistant for Kelly Construction in North Haven. She also worked at Wayside Furniture, where she helped others create welcoming homes, and ultimately became a realtor with Weichert in Branford, where she was especially known for her talent in staging and design.

Known for her spontaneous and fun-loving spirit, Marie was always ready for an adventure - a last-minute outing, a great meal, or sharing a perfectly made martini with friends. She loved to travel, particularly with her husband, enjoying trips near and far and discovering new places together.

Marie also had a lifelong love of fashion and style, always impeccably dressed and expressing herself with timeless elegance. She cherished hosting gatherings, decorating for the holidays, and bringing people together. With an eye for beauty and a natural gift for advice, many turned to her for guidance in both life’s big moments and everyday decisions.

A woman of deep faith, Marie was actively involved at St. Vincent de Paul Church, where she sang in the choir and devoted herself to her spiritual life. She was generous, humble, and accepting of others, living with compassion and grace.

She will be remembered as a beautiful soul - inside and out - whose presence, laughter, faith, and love will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Monday December 22, 2025 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 23 at 11 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
