2 Men Break Into Business, Try To Hide From Police: Branford PD
Investigation revealed they were attempting to steal large brass cylinders used to make labels valued at $22,500, police said.
BRANFORD, CT — Two Bridgeport man have been charged with attempting to steal brass cylinders from a Branford business valued at more than $20,000, police said.
At 8:31 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, Branford Police responded to the commercial business, Brook and Whittle, Ltd at 59 School Ground Road on a burglary in progress.
An employee of the business identified two individuals inside the closed business after remotely viewing a video surveillance system, police said. Branford Police arrived to find the business secure, however, the suspects were still being viewed inside the building by the complainant. The suspects saw that police were outside and hid inside the building, police said.

East Haven and North Branford officers arrived and two teams of officers entered the building, police said.
Carlos Santiago, 29, and Thavone Kittiphanh, 65, both of Bridgeport were both arrested, police said. Investigation revealed that they were attempting to steal multiple large brass cylinders used to make labels in the printing industry valued at $22,500, police said.

Santiago and Kittiphanh were both charged with third-degree burglary, criminal attempt at first-degree larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, and interfering with an officer. Both men were held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
