UPDATE: Missing Cats Found After Sunday Windmill Hill Road House Fire
The home's occupants were accounted for, along with two of four cats, but two could not be found. By Monday afternoon, they'd been located.

BRANFORD, CT — Update: Branford Fire Chief Thomas Mahoney told Patch Monday afternoon that the two missing cats were located safe and sound.

Branford firefighters, with mutual aid by East Haven and Guilford fire departments, were able to quickly extinguish a fire after residents called about "black smoke filling the house," Branford Fire Chief Thomas Mahoney said.

And while all the Windmill Hill Road home's occupants were accounted for, along with two of four cats, two cats could not be found, though are believed to have escaped to the outside.
Anyone in the area of Windmill Hill Road who may have seen the animals are asked to please call animal control at 203-315-4125 or Branford Police at (203) 481-4241.
