Obituary: Doris May Johnson Medlyn, 91, Branford Resident

Branford, CT—Doris May Johnson Medlyn, of Branford, died Sunday December 18, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Sampson Medlyn.

Mrs. Medlyn was born March 4, 1925 in Branford, a daughter of the late John S. and Emma B. Johnson. She married Sampson in 1949 and together they operated their family farm, Medlyn's Dairy farm in Stony Creek, for many years. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ Congregational in Stony Creek, where she was very involved in church activities.

Doris is survived by her son, John J. "Jay" Medlyn of Stony Creek, her grandchildren, Kayla, James and Laurel Medlyn; her sister Letras Turbett of FL, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Keira Medlyn, her sister, Betty Lowery and her brothers, Richard, Herbert, John, Jr., Kenneth, Carl and Donald Johnson.

Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Church of Christ Congregational, Stony Creek, and may call at the church prior to the service from 9:00 – 10:00. Burial will
follow in Alderbrook Cemetery, Guilford.
