Obituary: Leah Dixon White Boyd, 90, formerly of Branford
Settling in Short Beach in 1939, she worked in advertising, for Federal Paperboard, and had a 40-year real estate career, retiring at 81.

Leah Dixon White Boyd of Lakewood, Colorado, formerly of Branford, CT., died on December 20, 2023 after a brief illness of cancer.
She was born on July 4, 1933 in Montclair, New Jersey. Daughter of Eleanor Napier Paulsen and Edward Skidmore White, her family moved from NJ to the Wilcox property in the Short Beach area of Branford, CT in 1939, just after the hurricane of 1938.

Settling in Short Beach after the 1938 hurricane, she worked in advertising, for Federal Paperboard, and 40 years in Real Estate, retiring at 81.
She attended Larson College and the University of New Haven, ultimately residing in the village of Stony Creek, where she lived for over 45 years. She worked in advertising, then for Federal Paperboard in New Haven, where she served as Assistant General Foreman of the rotogravure department, then spent over 40 years in Real Estate with the H. Pearce R.E. Co., from which she retired at age 81.

She is survived by two children, Sara Boyd Zimmerling (William H. Zimmerling) of Lakewood, CO; Marjorie Boyd of Chimacum, WA; two grandchildren, Devon Zimmerling Goddard (Joseph R. W. Goddard) of Kent, England; Aubrey Zimmerling of Phoenix, AZ; and one great grandchild, Noah R. W. Goddard of Kent, England. She is also survived by three sisters: Patricia E. White Venter of Guilford, CT; Eleanor S. White of Altoona, FL and Linda W. White Price of The Villages, FL, ten nieces and nephews and numerous extended family.
Arrangements will be private with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please consider
