Obituary: Lillian Vishno, 91, formerly of Branford

Lillian Vishno beloved wife, mother, and friend passed away on January 10, 2024 at the age of 91. She was the daughter of Michael and Mary Lekas of New Haven, CT. Lillian graduated from New Haven State Teachers College and taught elementary school in New Haven. After marrying Robert Vishno from Brandford, CT, they moved to Sag Harbor in 1956 where they both became teachers at Pierson High School and Lillian taught third grade for 30 years.

Lillian started the Migrant lunch program in Bridgehampton. She was also a point away from life master in bridge, which she really enjoyed. In addition to being past president of the Olde Towne Garden Club of Southampton, where she was past president, Lillian was an expert gardener and floral designer. She served as Sag Harbor Village trustee for 4 years. Bob and Lillian enjoyed traveling around the world on the QE2 for 17 years.

Lillian is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Vishno and daughters Dana Truxillo ( husband Terrence)of Franklington, La., daughter Mary Beth Armstrong of Sag Harbor and predeceased by son Robert Vishno.Lillian and Robert have 5 grandchildren: Dr. Tim and Meredith Schrader of Atlanta, Ga, Dr. Terrence M. Truxillo and wife Rebecca of New Orleans, La., Adrienne Truxillo, NPH and fiance Craig Bryan of New Orleans, La., Lt.Col.,MD Mark Truxillo of the US Air Force and wife Sara of Tuscon, AZ and Lauren Truxillo, PA-C. physicians assistant and wife Emily in Oregon. Lillian also has 10 great grand children.
