Obituary: Martin J. Millea, Jr., 85, of Branford
He loved to travel with his wife, Millie, and their sojourns took them to Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, and 30 states.
Martin J. Millea, Jr. of Branford died Tuesday November 7, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mildred Mako Millea.
Mr. Millea was born October 27, 1938 in Derby, CT, son of the late Martin J. and Ella Stevens Millea. He was a 1956 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 1961 graduate of Boston University. He was the founder and Principal of Quality Advisors of Connecticut, a consulting, auditing and training company specializing in compliance to International Quality Standards, where he worked until retirement. He has advised and consulted many national and international companies including the government of Sweden. Prior roles included Director of Quality Assurance for Firing Circuits, Inc.

He loved to travel with his wife, “Millie”, traveling to Asia, Europe, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, as well as over 30 states in the U. S. A. Marty loved his hobbies of photography, golf and history of American railroads. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Marty was a longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church in Branford (now St. John Bosco Parish) where he served on the parish council and was a former chair of the finance committee.
He is survived by his sons, Martin “MJ” (Debbie) of North Haven, Scott (Janice) of Hamden and Christopher (Jennifer) of Cheshire, and his grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Michael, Ryan, Dylan, Kevin and Julianne.

Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Saturday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Visiting hour prior to Mass from 8:30 – 9:30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Notre Dame High School Scholarship Fund, 1 Notre Dame Way, West Haven, CT 06516.
