Obituary: Richard Anthony “Rick” Zilinskas, 77, of Branford

Richard Anthony “Rick” Zilinskas of Branford died Sunday December 31, 2023 at the Hospital of St. Raphael Campus at YNHH. He was the beloved husband of Laura Jane MacDonald Zilinskas.

Rick was born in Hartford on January 15, 1946, son of the late Anthony P. and Constance V. Zilinskas. He was a graduate of Manchester High School class of 1964 and St. Bonaventure University class of 1968, He worked for many years for SNET and ATT until retiring as Director of Technology.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Matthew R. (Michele) Zilinskas of Lincoln University, PA and Dr. Christy Zilinskas (Brian) Baldrate of McLean, VA; his grandchildren, Christian and Connor Zilinskas, Griffin and Liam Ludwig, and Jackson, Logan and Dylan Baldrate. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Cote (Henry) of South Windsor, CT.

The family sends their gratitude to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff members at St. Raphael Campus MICU, especially Rose Banks, MD, and Maria Bernardo, RN for their kindness and compassion during Rick’s final days.

Funeral arrangements are private and at the convenience of his family.
