Obituary: Richard V. “Rick” Salvati, 68, of Branford

Richard V. “Rick” Salvati of Branford passed away peacefully with his wife by his side Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Candace Randall Salvati.

Rick was born November 17, 1955 in New Haven, a son of Louise Bianchi Salvati of Branford (formerly of West Haven) and the late George Salvati. He was the proud owner-operator of R & S Roofing in Branford known as Rick the Roofer to many for over 40 years.

Besides Candace and his mother, Rick is survived by his sons, Ryan Salvati and Michael Fries of West Haven and Daniel (Dawn) Fries of East Haven; his siblings, George (Nancy) Salvati and Carol (Kevin) Nason of West Haven, five grandchildren and his godson Kevin Nason.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing off the dock, riding his Harley-Davidson, Sunday football, and spending time with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Thursday, March 28 evening from 5:00 – 7:00, with a prayer service at 7:00, at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
