Ubald Trnkoczy Saskal, 88, died peacefully on April 3, 2024 in Guilford, Connecticut. Ubald was born in what was then Yugoslavia, to father Dalibor and mother Kornelia Trnkoczy.
He was raised in Austria in the austere postwar years, he eventually found his way to Canada as a young man. There, he was an amateur sports car racer; even after moving on from the hobby, he never lost his taste for the road and time spent behind the wheel. He spent those hours in his own diesel cars and the semi trucks he ordered to his meticulous specifications to fuel his career as an independent trucker. He then spent his last four decades in Branford, Connecticut.
