Opioid Addiction Crisis Subject of Thursday Discussion, Training

State officials from New Haven, East Haven, and Branford will be in attendance along with health care professionals to discuss crisis.

Join State Representatives James Albis (D-East Haven), Roland Lemar (D-New Haven, East Haven) and Lonnie Reed (D-Branford) for training and a discussion on the opioid crisis and addiction at the East Haven Senior Center on Taylor Avenue.

This training is run by BHcare, a behavioral health center that serves our communities. This interactive program teaches us as parents and friends where an addict might hide his or her drug of choice, gives us practical tactics to help a loved one who suffers from addiction, and advises us on how to best support them on their road to recovery.

After the training, we will be joined by Deputy Chief Jim Naccarato of the East Haven Police Department, and Sara Magistro, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from BHcare, for a discussion on addiction, and to address any questions or concerns from audience members regarding how the opioid crisis or another addiction is impacting our residents.
