Sixth-Grade Walsh Student, 11, Wins Prevention Council of Branford Anti-Vaping Art Competition

Branford High School students voted Joseph Ferraiolo's campaign slogan/artwork, 'Don't get hooked' on vaping with a fishing pole, a winner.

BRANFORD, CT — Eleven-year-old Joseph Ferraiolo, a sixth grader at Walsh Intermediate School, recently won an anti-vaping campaign art competition hosted by the Prevention Council of Branford.

The submitted artwork was voted on by the students of Branford High School. His poster features a fishing pole suspended in the water, with fish swimming around and the slogan, "Don't get hooked on vape!"

Ferraiolo was honored with an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly. And, his campaign artwork is being displayed on a billboard on Main Street in East Haven through the end of October.

Ferraiolo was also awarded a $250 Amazon gift card.

"We are all so proud of Joseph and grateful to be a part of such an important project," said Stephanie Ferraiolo about her son.
