'Sun Shines On Branford' Day Proclaimed, Fest Celebrates Town's Commitment To Renewable Energy
Highlighting town's place as a leader in CT sustainable energy landscape, the Sept. 20 town-wide event has sun-inspired crafts, demos, more.

BRANFORD, CT —At Wednesday's Board of Selectmen’s meeting, members unanimously approved a proclamation designating September 20, 2025, as 'Sun Shines on Branford' day.
The special inaugural event is focused on Branford and its place as a leader in Connecticut's sustainable energy landscape.
SUN SHINES ON BRANFORD
SEPTEMBER 20, 2025
WHEREAS, we want a clean and healthy future for ourselves and our future generations; and,
WHEREAS, solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet; and,
WHEREAS, in order to achieve a carbon friendly world for all, we need to increase the pace of adoption of solar power and other sources of clean, safe, renewable energy; and,
WHEREAS, implementing energy efficiency and clean energy policies and programs can help boost economic opportunities and job creation while continuing to move toward a sustainable future; and,
WHEREAS, the residents of Branford can continue to lead the way in our town’s sustainability efforts and a healthier future by continuing to practice smarter energy use in our daily lives; and,
NOW THEREFORE, We, the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Branford do hereby proclaim September 20, 2025, as “Sun Shines on Branford” day and invite all residents to join us in our town-wide celebration planned for that day and to take action to adopt clean energy practices now and for the well-being of our future.

The town-wide event includes activities near the Town Green and around town on Saturday, Sept. 20. There will be themed crafts, informational tours, special demos, creative workshops, and music and poetry. Town retailers will participate in their own way with special sun-inspired offerings.
