Two Democrats To Run For Branford First Selectman

Chris Sullivan and Andy Campbell, both democrats, will both run for First Selectman of Branford, according to the New Haven Independent.

With First Selectman Anthony "Unk" DaRos recently saying that he will not run again this November, and with a republican candidate already announced, two democrats have said they will run for Branford First Selectman.

Monday, DaRos - a democrat -  announced he was not going to run for First Selectman this November. Also this month, Republican James Cosgrove, a member of the Branford Board of Selectmen, announced he was going to run.

Now, Democrats Chris Sullivan, a member of the Representative Town Meeting, and Andy Campbell, a member of the Board of Selectmen, have both announced they will run for First Selectman, according to the New Haven Independent. Sullivan, 36, is an environmental analyst for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, while Campbell, 47, is an attorney, according to the New Haven Independent.

Sullivan is the chairman of the Branford Democratic Town Committee, a position Campbell used to hold, according to the Independent. The emergence of at least two democrat candidates for First Selectman means the possibility of a primary later this year.
