1 Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In Bridgeport: Police
The crash occurred Saturday at the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Harriet Street, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 53-year-old Bridgeport man died over the weekend from injuries he suffered when the car he was driving was struck by another car at the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Harriet Street in Bridgeport, according to police.
Andre Scarlett sustained serious injuries in the two-vehicle crash on Saturday, and died the same day at Bridgeport Hospital.
"The Bridgeport Police Department sends its sincere condolences to Scarlett's family and friends," officials said in a statement.

A preliminary investigation determined that Scarlett was operating a black 2000 Saturn SC2, traveling west on Barnum Avenue. He was attempting to go through the intersection of Barnum Avenue and Harriet Street, when his car was struck by a gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata bearing North Carolina registration HCZ1398.
After the crash, the suspects in the Hyundai jumped out of the vehicle and fled the area, according to police.

"The Bridgeport Police Department continues to ask drivers to slow down, be aware of their surroundings, stay off their phones, and pay attention to the road," officials said.
