11th Annual Step Up For The Brave Challenge
Homes for the Brave presents its signature stair-climb fundraiser benefitting Connecticut Veterans experiencing homelessness on August 16.
Homes for the Brave invites the community to join a fun, celebratory event that supports our brave service Men and Women – the 11th Annual Step Up for the Brave Challenge. Taking place on Saturday, August 16 at the Martire Family Arena at Sacred Heart University, this fitness event raises critical funds for Connecticut’s Veterans experiencing homelessness, hunger, and mental health challenges.
During this 90-minute challenge, participants can choose to take laps on the 500 stair-climb challenge throughout the arena, or tackle the planned 1,000-step non-competitive walking challenge. The event is designed for all fitness levels, from beginners to competitive climbers. Those unable to attend the event in person may participate in a virtual walking challenge, taking place from August 11-15. Every step taken benefits Veterans in need.
“Mark your calendars and register today to participate in this important fundraiser. You can join as an individual or form a team, either way you will be helping Veterans experiencing homelessness, hunger and mental health challenges get the support and services they need to get back on their feet,” said Vince Santilli, CEO/Executive Director of Homes for the Brave.

The cost is just $40, and participants receive an event shirt, a light breakfast, and a chance to compete for prizes. Visit www.homesforthebrave.org/stepup to register today.
Proceeds from this event will support Homes for the Brave’s mission to help individuals experiencing homelessness, hunger and mental health challenges, almost all of whom are Veterans, return to productive and meaningful lives. The Martire Family Arena at Sacred Heart University is located at 31135 Easton Turnpike in Fairfield, CT.
