Bridgeport Receives $3 Million State Grant For Redevelopment Of Blighted Property (patch.com) — Bridgeport is set to receive a $3 million state grant to clean up contaminated land on Seaview Avenue where a former steel mill once operated, paving the way for new development. The remediation will support expansion plans for Bridgeport Boatworks and Hornblower Marine, while contributing to broader statewide efforts to turn polluted brownfields into productive sites for jobs and housing.

Bridgeport man pleads guilty to stabbing man in head, beating him with a baseball bat (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport residents may want to know that a 28-year-old local man has pleaded guilty to a brutal April assault and related charges and is expected to serve eight years in prison under a plea deal. The case, handled at the Bridgeport Judicial District Courthouse, now moves toward jury selection in January, with the defendant held on high bonds while attorneys prepare for a single proceeding.
   

4. From Wiretaps To Prison: Stamford Drug Ring Leader Sentenced To Nearly a Decade, Feds Say (dailyvoice.com) — Bridgeport residents should know a major federal drug case involved searches here, as well as a DEA task force based in the city, helping dismantle a Stamford-centered trafficking ring. Investigators seized large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, firearms, and vehicles, and the ringleader has now been sentenced to more than nine years in prison.
