4 Bridgeport Residents Face Grand Larceny Charges In New York: Police

The four are accused of stealing jewelry from several victims, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Four Bridgeport residents are facing grand larceny charges in connection with jewelry thefts in Nassau County, New York, according to authorities.

The four are accused of stealing jewelry from men and women, ages 18 to 94, in five Nassau County communities, Uniondale, Baldwin, Oceanside, Franklin Square and Valley Stream.

Details of what was stolen, and how, were not disclosed, but the crimes are alleged to have occurred between July 28 and Nov. 30 of this year, according to Nassau County police.

The four arrested on warrants on Wednesday are:

  • Cosmina Caldararu, 39
  • Laura Calin, 33
  • Alexendru Dumitru, 36
  • Constantin Dumitru, 41

All four are listed living in the same address on Walnut Street in Bridgeport.

Caldararu is facing seven counts of grand larceny, 4th degree, and three counts of conspiracy, 5th degree.

Alexendru Dumitru facing five counts of grand larceny, 4th degree, and three counts of conspiracy, 5th degree.

Calin is facing four counts of grand larceny, 4th degree, and two counts of conspiracy, 5th degree.

Constantin Dumitru is facing a single count of grand larceny, 4th degree.

All defendants were released on Appearance Tickets and taken into custody by U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Agents, according to police.
