Bridgeport Man Clocked At 125 MPH Before DUI Arrest In Milford: CT State Police

The incident occurred early Sunday on I-95, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 23-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving early Sunday after Connecticut State Police said a trooper clocked him traveling at 125 mph on I-95 southbound in Milford.

Jose Gonzalez was spotted at about 2:55 a.m. driving a gray Honda Civic near exit 40 in Milford at the high rate of speed before he was pulled over near exit 38, according to state police. The trooper was following the Honda, and used the state police cruiser's speedometer to observe the speed, which at times exceeded 125 mph.

Once safely stopped, the trooper began speaking with Gonzalez, and "observed clear signs of impairment, to include red glossy eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person."
