Bridgeport Man Heading To Prison After Guilty Plea In Sexual Assault Case: Report
The defendant is accused of sexually assaulting three children, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 39-year-old Bridgeport man will spend 25 years behind bars after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting three children over the course of several years, the Connecticut Post reported.
Under a plea deal, Omar Gomez-Zarate reportedly pleaded guilty Tuesday to:
- First-degree sexual assault (5 counts),
- Risk of injury to a minor (2 counts)
- Fourth-degree sexual assault (2 counts)
- Second-degree sexual assault
- First-degree possession of child pornography
- Promoting a minor in an obscene performance
Bridgeport police reportedly began investigating Gomez-Zaratein December 2023, after the department received a complaint of a sexual assault on a juvenile.

During the investigation, authorities discovered that Gomez-Zarate sexually assaulted two additional victims. All three told police that the abuse began when they were children and continued into their teens.
