Bridgeport Neighborhood Evacuated After Detection Of Natural Gas Leak
The leak was found Wednesday afternoon on Howard Avenue, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The neighborhood around 92 Howard Ave. in Bridgeport was temporarily evacuated Wednesday afternoon, following the detection of a natural gas leak, according to fire officials.
Firefighters found elevated gas readings upon arrival, and utility crews were quickly called to the scene to secure their respective services, Bridgeport Press Secretary Shawnna White said in a statement.
No injuries were reported in the 2 p.m. incident, and crews are working to repair the leak.
