Bridgeport Police Officer Forgot Gun In Public Restroom: Report

The officer is facing disciplinary action by the department, according to Chief Roderick Porter.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport police officer is facing disciplinary action by the department, after she forgot leaving her handgun in a public restroom for more than five minutes unattended, the Connecticut Post reported.

The incident occurred in a bathroom at Total Mortgage Arena in downtown Bridgeport, and the officer retrieved the handgun before it got into the wrong hands.

According to Police Chief Roderick Porter, the exact punishment has not been determined, and the unnamed officer remains on active duty.
