​City of Bridgeport Hosts 'National Public Health Week'

A kickoff event will be on April 3, 12 p.m. including a presentation and proclamation.

From the City of Bridgeport: The City of Bridgeport will be joining national public health leaders across the country to celebrate National Public Health Week. Bridgeport’s Department of Health and Social Services will kickoff National Public Health Week on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with a presentation and proclamation. National Public Health Week is an annual observance in April that recognizes the contributions and value of public health in protecting and improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities. This year, National Public Health week will be observed April 3 through April 9, 2017. The national theme this year is “Healthiest Nation 2030”.

The City of Bridgeport Department of Health and Social Services will be hosting events throughout the week including a presentation of public health achievements over the last two decades, a public health interactive photo campaign, and a roundtable discussion on community health concerns with city officials. Each event will take place in the Margaret E. Morton Government Center at 999 Broad Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The Bridgeport Department of Health and Social Services invites and encourages all residents to engage in activities and take actions that improve the health of our community.
