Convicted Bridgeport Felon Accused Of Illegal Firearm Possession: PD
The suspect attempted to run from officers before he was apprehended, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 33-year-old Bridgeport man, who police said is a convicted felon, was recently arrested on weapons charges by Bridgeport police.
When apprehended following a brief foot chase on Jan. 29, Kevin Reese was charged with the following:
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Illegal transfer of a pistol
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine
Members of the Bridgeport Regional Task Force had been conducting an investigation of Reese concerning narcotic and firearm violations.

After spotting Reese driving a gray Dodge Charger on the 29th, officers tried to pull him over, but he sped off.
That same day, Task Force officers saw Reese on East Washington Avenue in Bridgeport approaching the Charger, which led to the brief foot chase. While running from officers, Reese threw away a Springfield XD9 9mm handgun containing 15 rounds of ammunition.

As a convicted felon, Reese is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Reese was released after posting a $150,000 bond, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Feb. 28.
