Crash Leads To Closure, Numerous Delays Reported On I-95, Rt. 15

There are numerous delays and a crash have been reported along I-95 and Route 15 in Fairfield County Friday morning.

There are numerous delays on I-95 and the Merritt Parkway Friday morning. There is a 10-mile delay starting in Bridgeport, and the Exit 27A to Route 8 North Ramp is closed due to a crash.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CT — There were numerous delays on I-95 and the Merritt Parkway Friday morning.

At one point Friday morning there were 13 and 10 mile delays on I-95 and Route 15. As of 8:30 a.m., some delays have been cleared and the I-95 northbound Exit 27A to Route 8 north ramp has reopened after being closed for hours on Friday morning.

NORWALK - Delays. I-95 Southbound is congested between Exits 16 and 5 (10.3 miles). Reported Friday, November 17 at 6:25 am.

WESTPORT - I-95 Northbound Exit 17 OFFRAMP CLOSED because of Road Work. Reported Friday, November 17 at 8:45 am.

WESTPORT - I-95 Southbound Exit 17 OFFRAMP CLOSED because of Road Work. Reported Friday, November 17 at 8:47 am.

NORWALK - Delays. RT 15 Southbound is congested between Exits 40B and 37 (2.0 miles). Reported Friday, November 17 at 7:39 am.

Special Weather Statement issued for Fairfield County by the National Weather Service:

"Patchy fog has developed in some locales, with visibilities getting down mostly to a half mile, but may be reduced to one quarter mile locally. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing visibilities and drive with extra caution when encountering this fog. Use low beam headlights and allow for extra spacing between vehicles."

Saturday: A chance of rain before 7am, then a slight chance of showers between 7am and 1pm. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a temperature rising to near 54 by 11am, then falling to around 46 during the remainder of the day. North wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 6 to 13 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 52. West wind 8 to 14 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30
