Driver Rescued After Being Entrapped In Bridgeport Crash: Official
The one-vehicle crash occurred Thursday night.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A person was injured Thursday night in Bridgeport when their vehicle struck a utility pole, trapping the person inside, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bankside Street and Madison Avenue, and wires landed on top of the vehicle with the driver trapped inside.
Crews from United Illuminating were called to the scene to remove the hazard, and the wires were determined to be from Frontier Communications.

The driver, who suffered injuries that are not considered to be a threat to life, was safely removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
