Bridgeport Resident Wins Big KENO Lottery Prize (patch.com) — A Bridgeport resident has claimed a $25,000 KENO prize from a ticket bought at Lucky Seven on Boston Avenue, adding a little extra cheer to the holiday season. Connecticut Lottery officials note that winners’ names are now kept private unless they give written consent, while KENO drawings continue every few minutes with prizes up to $1 million.
   

2. 2 New Chain Restaurants Coming To Bridgeport: Report (patch.com) — Bridgeport diners can look forward to Chipotle Mexican Grill and Dave's Hot Chicken moving into the Brookside Center on Main Street, replacing the current Red Lobster space. The two chains will subdivide the location under a deal brokered by True Commercial Real Estate, though no closing date for Red Lobster has been announced yet.
   

3. Bridgeport cop demoted for criticizing police department's pursuit policy gets rank restored (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport’s civil service commission has allowed police Sgt. Adam Szeps to keep his rank after he mocked the department’s pursuit policy, but he’ll serve a suspension and extended probation. The case highlights ongoing tension between Chief Roderick Porter and the police union, which has accused his administration of unfair discipline and previously issued a no-confidence vote.
   

4. Bridgeport man convicted of murder, assault in 2024 drive-by shooting (ctpost.com) — A Bridgeport jury has convicted 35-year-old Terence Gallimore of murder, assault and weapons charges in a 2024 East End drive-by shooting that killed 28-year-old Brandaja Winston and injured a man. Prosecutors say he fired multiple shots from a car later chased into Hamden and New Haven, and police are still searching for a second suspect.

Research from Connecticut and beyond shows mold and fragrant tree chemicals may trigger wheezing, coughing, and skin irritation, but steps like rinsing trees, using HEPA filters, and limiting display time can reduce risks.
