Elderly Pedestrian Critically Injured In Bridgeport Crash: Police
The crash occurred in the 500 block of Clinton Avenue, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — An 80-year-old pedestrian from Bridgeport was seriously injured Monday when the man was struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport, according to police.
The incident occurred just before 5 p.m., and upon arrival, officers found the victim lying in the northbound lane of Clinton Avenue. He was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
"The preliminary investigation indicated that a 67-year-old Fairfield resident was operating a vehicle traveling northbound on Clinton Avenue," wrote Bridgeport Police Sgt. Darryl Wilson in a statement. "As the operator approached the 500 block, the pedestrian attempted to cross the street from the northbound side, and he was struck."

The driver was uninjured in the crash, and cooperated with investigators, according to Wilson.
