BRIDGEPORT, CT — On November 19 at 6:30 PM, the dynamic family band of violinists, The Villalobos Brothers, will join Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras’ Principal Orchestra, on stage at The Klein Auditorium, 910 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport, CT for an evening of classical, jazz, Mexican folk, and Latin music. The Villalobos Brothers deliver a powerful message of love, brotherhood, and social justice through their music.

On the program is the world premiere of an original piece composed by Luis Villalobos, “Desierto” (“Desert”). It tells the story of the journeys of Latin American and African immigrants in search of better lives in other countries. The chorus will be sung in Spanish and English by Stamford-based INTEMPO Youth Choir. Its 40 singers are all recent immigrants themselves or children of immigrants. They will be joined by GCTYO's 82-piece Principal Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Hisey, and The Villalobos Brothers band. The audience will feel hope and positivity reflected in the music and presented by the collaboration of accomplished professional artists with 122 young musicians.
