Juneteenth

WHEN: Saturday, June 7, 2025

Parade Starts at 11:00 AM

Festival from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

WHERE: Seaside Park

WHAT: Mayor Ganim and The City of Bridgeport will partner with Juneteenth of Fairfield County to host the 33rd Annual Juneteenth Parade and Harambee Festival in celebration of the Juneteenth holiday.

WHO: Mayor Ganim, 2025 Grand Marshal Atty. Preston Tisdale, Deborah Caviness, Members of Juneteenth of Fairfield County, Elected Officials, and Community Members.

Black Rock Day

WHEN: Sunday, June 8, 2025

WHO: Mayor Ganim, City Council Members Matthew McCarthy & Scott Burns, 2025 Parade Grand Marshal Fred Haschak, Elected Officials, the Black Rock Community Council, and Community Members.

WHAT: Mayor Ganim and The City of Bridgeport will partner with the Black Rock Community Council to celebrate Black Rock Day by holding an annual Road Race, Bed Race, Parade and Festival.

9:00 AM ~ The Run for the Rock 5K

The 5K will take runners from the S.S. Norden Club, around St. Mary’s and up “heartbreak hill” before finishing back at the Norden Club.

11:30 AM ~ Black Rock Bed Races

Bed Race will be starting at the Brewster Street Pocket Park, corner of Brewster St & Grovers Ave, travels down Brewster St and finishes at Ellsworth Field.

12:00 PM ~ Parade

Parade Beginning at the Burroughs Community Center, 2470 Fairfield Ave, turns onto Gilman St, then Harborview Ave. It then takes a left onto Grovers Ave, right onto Brewster St and ends at Ellsworth Field.

1:00 PM – 6:00 PM ~ Festival at Ellsworth Field

The festival will include live music, food, and plenty of activities for the kids.
