BRIDGEPORT, CT — Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is proud to announce that Logan the Amazon River Turtle has been elected as the Zoo’s 2025 Mayor! Known for his calm demeanor and steadfast nature, Logan’s campaign promise to "Shell Out Real Solutions" captured the hearts of voters.

The 2026 race featured four other spirited contenders: Fiona the Maned Wolf, Rose the Dexter Cow, Furry the Chinese Goral, and Chunk the Tiger Salamander, each bringing their own unique charm and platforms to the campaign trail. After a lively contest and votes cast by Zoo visitors and supporters, Logan emerged as the clear winner, earning the honor of leading the Zoo’s "cabinet of creatures" for the next year. As the second-place finisher, Fiona the Maned Wolf will serve as Deputy Mayor, stepping in to assist Logan during his term as needed.
