Man Accused Of Nearly Striking State Police Troopers In Bridgeport
The incident occurred in September, and the suspect was arrested on a warrant over the weekend.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 29-year-old Stamford man was arrested by Connecticut State Police on a warrant charging him with reckless driving and related violations after authorities said the man nearly struck a state police trooper during a seatbelt enforcement operation in Bridgeport in September.
Howard Charles Parker was apprehended by state police over the weekend, after a trooper spotted him at a Fairfield gas station, and knew that there was an active warrant for his arrest.

- Reckless Driving
- Disobeying the Signal of an Officer
- Interfering with an Officer
- Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree
According to state police, the incident occurred just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 4, while troopers were conducting seatbelt enforcement near exit 28 of I-95 southbound.
Parker was driving a Dodge Charger, and when the troopers signaled for him to pull over, Parker sped off and nearly struck the troopers in the process, according to authorities.

The troopers noted Parker's vehicle and South Carolina license plate, and obtained a warrant for his arrest, which occurred on Saturday.
Parker was released after posting a $20,000 cash/surety bond, and he is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 9.
