Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Bridgeport Crash: Police

The crash occurred Monday evening, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 32-year-old Bridgeport man was critically injured Monday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating slammed into a tree in the 900 block of Briarwood Avenue in Bridgeport, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m., and the motorcyclist was found unresponsive on the ground when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.

Bridgeport police and fire personnel rendered aid to the operator, before American Medical Response transported him to St. Vincent's Medical Center for treatment. The victim sustained serious injuries and is listed in critical condition.

The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Team is investigating the crash, and according to a preliminary report, the victim was operating a 2021 blue Hawk Z7185 motorcycle south on Briarwood Avenue "when the motorcycle drifted to the right, scraped the curb, and struck a tree."
