Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Bridgeport Crash: Police
The crash occurred Sunday morning, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 35-year-old Bridgeport woman was critically injured Sunday morning when the motorcycle she was operating collided with a four-door sedan at the intersection of Main Street and Goldenrod Avenue in Bridgeport, according to police.
The crash occurred at about 11 a.m., and no other injuries were reported. Police temporarily closed the roadway during the investigation.
Medics and Bridgeport firefighters rendered medical aid to the woman at the scene before transporting her to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical but stable condition.

The sedan was driven by a 75-year-old Bridgeport resident, who police said remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Main Street when the 4-door sedan, traveling northbound on Main Street, turned left (westbound) onto Goldenrod Avenue meeting with the motorcycle," wrote Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.

Gilleran added that the department "reminds all riders that motorcycles, including smaller engine models (50cc and up), are fully regulated motor vehicles in Connecticut and must be operated only on the roadway, in full compliance with state traffic laws.
"Riders should also wear a properly worn and securely fastened DOT-approved helmet and exercise heightened caution, as even low-speed crashes can result in severe head injuries."
