New Details Released In Car Vs. Pedestrian Crash In Bridgeport: Police
The crash occurred Thursday morning near the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Main Street.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 72-year-old Bridgeport woman is in critical condition in St. Vincent's Medical Center, after she was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning near the intersection of Capitol Avenue and Main Street in Bridgeport, according to police.
The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Investigation Team is investigating the 9 a.m. crash, but a preliminary report determined that a 31-year-old Bridgeport woman was operating a gray 2018 Toyota Rav4 south on Main Street, which struck the victim.
"The gray 2018 Toyota Rav4 attempted to turn left onto Capitol Avenue and struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk," wrote Bridgeport police in a news release. "The gray 2018 Toyota Rav4 was immediately struck in the rear by a red 2003 Ford Econoline E350, being operated by a 71-year-old male Bridgeport resident."
