New Gas Station & Car Wash Complex Breaks Ground In Bridgeport

The new facility on Seaview Avenue, which will bring new jobs to Bridgeport's East End, will include a Dunkin' Donuts and sandwich shop.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — In about nine months, Bridgeport's East Side will have a new gas station, Dunkin' Donuts, sandwich shop and state-of-the-art car wash complex on Seaview Avenue.

Ground was broken this week on the new facility at 837 Seaview Ave., just off exit 29 of I-95, by Steelpointe developer Bobby Christoph and development partner Nurul Alam, who will run the complex.

Christoph told Patch that the development, which will feature brick exteriors, will cost roughly $12.5 million to $13 million to build, and will bring about 100 construction jobs to the area.

"What we're doing is the highest and best quality for Bridgeport," Christoph said. "We want people who come here off I-95 to have a great perception of Bridgeport."

Alam said that they started the project more than two years ago, and joked that the nine-month construction window "is the easy part." The facility is expected to open by January 2026.

The whole complex is about 5 acres, Christoph said, which will allow trucks and cars to easily pull in and out.

Once completed, the complex will operate 24 hours a day, and will require dozens of employees. He added that the priority will be to hire residents from the East Side and other parts of Bridgeport to work at the facility.

"We're excited for the offering," Christoph said.

The site has been vacant for decades, and local residents and leaders have pushed for a development such as this.

"When people see this, they'll know that great things are happening here in Bridgeport," Mayor Joe Ganim said. "This project comes from the community, from the leadership to the jobs that will be created."
