Water Main Break Closes Multiple Roads In Bridgeport: Officials

The break caused heavy flooding and pavement damage.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A ruptured water main in Bridgeport Thursday morning has led to heavy flooding and the closure of multiple roads in the city, according to officials.

"Please be advised, the following areas are inaccessible until further notice due to a water main break with heavy flooding," wrote Shawnna White, Bridgeport's Public Information Officer, in a statement.

At least one of the roads suffered severely buckled pavement due to the break and flooding. See below.

The following roads are closed:

  • North Washington Avenue and River Street
  • Knowlton Street and River Street
  • River Street and Evergreen Street
