Brookfield Democrats Unanimously Endorse Full Slate For 2025 Municipal Election

Brookfield Democrats unanimously back full 2025 municipal slate featuring incumbents and new candidates, "focused on community and progress.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Democratic Party unanimously endorsed its full slate of candidates for the 2025 municipal election during a caucus held Wednesday.

The endorsement followed a months-long selection process by the Democratic Town Committee’s Municipal Elections Committee, which prioritized candidates committed to public service and community engagement, according to a news release from the Brookfield Democratic Town Committee.

The slate includes incumbents Steve Dunn for First Selectman and Bob Belden for Selectman, alongside new candidates for the Boards of Education and Finance. Other positions on the slate include members for the Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning & Zoning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals.

Shannon Riley, chair of the BDTC, said the group brings “strength, dedication, and diverse experiences” and represents a commitment to “progress, accountability, and inclusive leadership.”

First Selectman candidate, incumbent Steve Dunn, expressed pride in the team, calling them “the very best Brookfield has to offer.”

Curtis Timmerman, an unaffiliated voter running on the Democratic ticket, thanked the party for its inclusive approach and said the collaboration reflects a commitment to hearing all voices in the community.

The Brookfield Democrats plan to focus their campaign on "community involvement, transparency, and the future of the town."
