Brookfield Firefighters Battle 2 Early Morning Blazes
The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company had a busy, early morning on Sunday.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company had a busy, early morning on Sunday.
At 3:59 a.m., firefighters and EMS crews were dispatched to Homestead Lane in Sandy Lane Village on a report of smoke coming from the building.
First responder found a fire in the front of the building under the siding extending into the basement.

The fire was quickly extinguished and all personnel on their way back to base by 5:30 a.m., according to fire officials, and the cause is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's Office.
But just before 6 a.m., the BVFC and over a half-dozen more local fire companies were called into service in Bethel to provide mutual aid for a house fire on Wolfpits Road in Bethel. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 8 a.m., according to fire officials, but overhaul continued into the morning.
