Brookfield Man Sentenced for Oxycodone Trafficking

Brookfield resident Kyle Lutrus sentenced after selling over 300 pills to local law enforcement.

A Brookfield man who pleaded ‘guilty’ in May on one count of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone was sentenced Thursday to over two years in prison and three years of supervised release.

Kyle Lutrus, 28, was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment, followed by supervised release, and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and forfeit $60,000 and a 2005 Honda Accord, which was used in drug trafficking.

According to court documents and statements made in court, in late 2011, Brookfield police received information that Lutrus was involved in the illegal distribution of oxycodone.

Between February 2012 and April 2012, Lutrus made multiple sales of oxycodone to an individual working with law enforcement and an undercover DEA Task Force officer.

A total of 343 pills were purchased from Lutrus during the course of the investigation.

He was arrested on Dec.20, 2012, and pleaded guilty on May 15 on one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute.

This matter was investigated by the DEA’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and the Brookfield Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David Sullivan and Michael Runowicz.
