BREAKING: A Brookfield man was hospitalized during a lacrosse game in Lake Placid, NY.

LAKE PLACID, NY — A Brookfield man suffered a heart attack during a lacrosse game at the Lake Placid Summit Classic, but was revived and is now in stable condition, reports the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. According to the report, 54-year-old John Sussingham collapsed during the Wednesday Afternoon game, and athletic trainers stabilized him through an automated external defibrillator.
EMTs then arrived to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and brought him to an area hospital. A stent was placed in his artery by Dr. Eric Gauthier.
The tournament last night honored EMT Mellissa "Missy" Furnia for her role in Sussingham's recovery. Furnia helped keep him awake during the heart attack.
