Brookfield Police Arrest Man After Yearlong Investigation Into Illegal Ghost Gun

Brookfield police arrested Robert Caselnova after a yearlong probe into an illegal fully automatic ghost gun.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A man was taken into custody Thursday following a yearlong police investigation into the suspected possession of an illegal fully automatic rifle, authorities said.

Brookfield police said investigators arrested Robert Caselnova after a felony traffic stop near Whisconier Road and West Whisconier. The firearm at the center of the case was identified as a “ghost gun,” an unregistered and untraceable weapon often linked to organized crime and illegal trafficking.

The investigation, which police called “Full Auto Felon,” concluded with Caselnova’s arrest on an active warrant.
