Police Nab Bridgeport Man In Connection With Brookfield Overdose Death

The arrest of Michel Hernandez follows a nine-month investigation into the overdose death of a Brookfield resident.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A 25-year-old Bridgeport man is facing charges in the overdose death of a Brookfield man.

Police have charged Michel Hernandez of Bridgeport with negligent homicide, sale of a narcotic, and possession with intent to sell a narcotic, according to a news release.

The arrest follows a nine-month investigation into the death of the Brookfield resident. The inquiry has been open since Brookfield police responded to a call regarding a narcotics overdose death on Aug. 25, 2023.

Police identified Hernandez, obtained an arrest warrant, and took him into custody on May 22. He was held for arraignment at Danbury Superior Court on a $50,000 court-set bond.
