Brookfield Public Schools Student Enrollment Rising

Here is a breakdown of student enrollment at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

BROOKFIELD, CT – As of Oct. 1, 2023, student enrollment in the Brookfield Public Schools is on the rise, according to recent data shared by school administrators.

There are currently 2,597 pupils enrolled in Brookfield schools and at this time in 2022 that number was 2,583. Back in 2022, that number was 2,564.

Candlewood Lake Elementary School saw the largest increase with an additional 29 students over last year. There are 1,106 pupils attending the school as of Oct. 1.

There was a 12 pupil reduction at Whisconier Middle School, which is now at 591 students and at the high school there is one less student, enrollment there is at 871 students.

Administrators cautioned that the numbers will likely shift throughout the year. In November, officials said they'll share class size data.
