Brookfield Schools Moving to New Accounting System: Report

School officials say the district will allow for more transparent accounting.

BROOKFIELD, CT — In a move that officials say will improve school accounting practices, the Brookfield Public Schools will transition to a new universal accounting software, reports the News Times. The district will move to the MUNIS (municipal information systems) on July 1.

The system will allow officials to better view the district's accounting, allowing for a much more transparent process, according to Superintendent John Barile. The transition began after a firm recommended a "cultural change" in how the town and schools managed finances.
