Brookfield Town Park Beach Is Back In The Swim, With New Rules

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Town Park Beach got back into the swim of things on Friday.

The beach is now open daily August 23, and weekends only from August 29-30 and September 5-7, including Labor Day. Hours are 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. every day of the week.

Beach patrons must have a season pass, which can be purchased through the Parks and Recreation Department, as well as make a reservation in advance. Reservations are available daily for either a morning (10:00 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.) or afternoon (2:00 – 5:45 p.m.) session. Pass holders may make

three reservations every seven days; two weekday and one weekend, with no consecutive days.

Residents can be accompanied by up to two guests per reservation and the guests must be added and paid for by calling Parks & Rec at 203-775-7310 ahead of time. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There will be designated seating areas on the beach, as well as social distancing among households. Masks must be worn upon entry into the park by all patrons ages 2 and above. Residents may remove their masks once at their place on the beach or at a table.

The swings, volleyball court, grills, picnic tables and restrooms/changing rooms will be available for use, but the basketball court remains closed. There are no docks in the water this summer. This includes the floating dock/diving board as well as the swim lanes.

Vending machines are available for use by patrons and include a selection of water, beverages and snacks. Vending machines accept credit cards or cash. There will be no other concession available this summer.
