Firefighters Tackle Burning Car In Brookfield

First responders found the vehicle engulfed in flames, and both occupants safe outside it, according to fire officials.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters extinguished a burning car in town early Wednesday evening.

Members of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company were called to the area of 46 Sandy Lane at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday evening to extinguish a burning car.

First responders found the vehicle engulfed in flames, and both occupants safe outside it, according to fire officials.

The firefighter quickly extinguished the fire, while working to contain the fuel leak and run off.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified to investigate the catch basins and runoff, according to a social media post by the BVFC.
