Hinger Announces Candidacy For First Selectman Of Brookfield
Hinger is vice chairman of the Brookfield Zoning Board of Appeals and a member of the Brookfield Republican Town Committee.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Karl Hinger has announced his candidacy for First Selectman of Brookfield, highlighting his focus on fiscal responsibility, controlled development, and increased community engagement.
Hinger, who currently serves as vice chairman of the Brookfield Zoning Board of Appeals, said his campaign will center on reducing municipal debt, preserving the town’s character, and ensuring residents have a voice in local government.
“I am running because preserving a community is the responsibility of all citizens,” Hinger said in his announcement. “I am prepared to work with the town of Brookfield to grow our community and build a brighter tomorrow for future generations.”

A member of the Brookfield Republican Town Committee, Hinger has been involved in local politics and civic engagement. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Connecticut State University and currently manages inventory operations at Hamar Laser in Danbury.
Hinger said he is particularly focused on limiting high-density development, which he argues threatens Brookfield’s small-town charm. “It’s time to take care of the Brookfielders who have invested in this community, rather than prioritizing high-density housing and large-scale development projects being pushed by Hartford,” he said.
