Juvenile Seriously Injured In E-Bike And Car Collision In Brookfield

A juvenile was seriously injured in a July 4 crash involving an e-bike and a car in Brookfield, police said.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A juvenile was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a collision involving an e-bike and a sedan, according to Brookfield police.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 4:06 p.m. on July 4, following a report of the crash near the intersection of Forty Acre Mountain Road and Old Turnpike Road.

Police said the juvenile, who had been riding the e-bike southbound on Old Turnpike Road before entering Forty Acre Mountain Road, was transported to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries. The juvenile’s parents were quickly notified, authorities said.

The driver of the Audi, a 27-year-old Brookfield resident identified as Aaron Moniz, remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. He was not injured.

The road was closed until approximately 7 p.m. while police conducted an investigation.
