Man Arrested in Crash That Injured State Trooper in Brookfield: State Police
BREAKING: State police say the trooper has been unable to work since the crash back in January.

BROOKFIELD, CT — More than seven months after a state trooper's cruiser was struck on Rte. 7 in Brookfield, a Danbury man turned himself in to police in connection with the JanuaryNixon's crash. Police say Brian L. Glasser, 38, was arrested on multiple charges after the crash that has kept Trooper Karen Nixon out of work for over seven months.
Police say Nixon parked her cruiser in the left lane behind another trooper's vehicle that was investigating a crash. Glasser allegedly stayed in the left lane at "highway speeds," and crashed into the back of Nixon's cruiser. Glasser's car pushed the cruiser around 70 feet from where the cruiser was parked initially. State police say Nixon remains out of work due to injuries she suffered during the crash.

After turning himself in Wednesday, Glasser was charged with following too closely, distracted driving, reckless driving, reckless endangerment in the first degree and assault in the third degree. He is due in Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 8.
